Then it should run, and you'll get to see 1996 era blocky graphics that make Lara look like she's made of LEGO. Switch to the C: drive, and your TOMBRAID directory (set up by the TR installer). Switch to the D: drive and type the INSTALL commandĪfter installation you have to run it just like in DOS. Then you use the cdrom to install TR as if it were 1996 and you are operating a DOS unit. Z:>mount d d:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl (or something like that to mount your cdrom) Z:>mount c c:\Program Files\DOS (or something like that to mount your root directory) You'll start with a command line window with a z:> You are going to program the emulator to think that one of your directories is the C:> drive of a computer, and you have to map another link to either a directory where your game data is stored, or to your CDROM drive. Install it like a normal windows application, then you have to learn how to mount your drives in the virtual DOS machine. ![]() If you really want to try it it is a free download, I think version 7.2 is current. DOSBox is not going to get close to what you can set up with the TR Advanced Installer with Glidos (or dgVoodoo if you're desperate to avoid spending $10).ĭOSBox is an excellent DOS emulator, but DOS is so limited and clunky that I would avoid it if at all possible. ![]()
